Who we are
The Museum of Almost is the online community-interest and editorial project at whohidtheladder.com, also called Who Hid the Ladder? The site team handles enquiries made here. For privacy questions, access requests, corrections, withdrawal of consent, or deletion requests, use our contact form and select a clear subject in your message.
What we collect
Depending on the form, we collect your first name, email address, city and country or timezone, interests, preferred format, message, age confirmation, and consent choices. We also retain a request reference, submission time, entry and form pages, and campaign parameters present in your visit, such as UTM values or a Facebook click identifier. Please do not include sensitive health, financial, or identity-document information.
Why we use it
We use the details you submit to handle your request, contact you about relevant possibilities, consider collaboration or coaching enquiries, and manage stories you choose to contribute. We use campaign parameters to understand where enquiries originate. Coaching interest and permission to publish a story are separate optional choices. We do not treat a general connection enquiry as permission for unrelated marketing.
Your details stay private
We do not publish contact details or maintain a public member directory. Before sharing your contact details with another participant or an independent provider for an introduction, we ask for your permission. Hosting services process data needed to operate the site. We do not sell your enquiry details. Story publication requires the separate permission on that form.
Cookies and technical information
The site uses an essential session cookie for form security and continuity. It expires with your browser session. Server infrastructure may keep standard access and security logs. Form abuse controls use a keyed, non-reversible identifier based on the connection address; the lead record does not contain that address. No advertising pixel, third-party analytics script, or optional tracking cookie is installed on this site.
Storage and retention
Submissions are stored in access-restricted server storage outside the public website. We retain information while it is useful for handling the request or managing a permitted ongoing relationship, subject to relevant obligations and periodic review. You can request deletion or correction through the contact page. We may verify your identity and retain limited records where needed for security or applicable obligations.
Your choices
You can decline invitations, ask us to stop contacting you, withdraw optional story-publication permission, or ask about the information held about you. Include your request reference if available and use the same email address you submitted. Depending on your location, you may have additional data rights and the right to contact a relevant supervisory authority. This site is for adults aged 18 or older.
